Default performance

i have a 96 vw jetta trek and am interested in doing the most i can to get the best performance out of it i am torn between going turbo or supercharger a buddy of mine said the 2.0l was set up to have turbo with the dished pistons but said there was some transmission upgrading i would have to do can anyone help me out and suggest what i could do to get the most out of my jetta thanks alot

You could do both. I've seen 2.0 super, but rather go turbo. You'll be fine as long as you don't run like 20 pounds of boost! Run like 8 or something and you'll be fine. Get a good cold air intake, good exhaust and you'll be fine.

thats great i was also looking up and saw that 1993 vw passat 2.0l had dohc is it possible that the passat head would bolt directly to mine and also what size of exhaust would you reccomend

Superchargers I've heard are easier to put in, but are parasidic. Turbo gives more, but like was said, don't run too much boost

I'm not sure as far as heads...I know the VR6 is dual cam, but not too sure about the other motors, they may be. I would to stick with Jetta-Jetta and Passat-Passat. Intermixing could cause unheard problems and be a waste of time.
