Default Need Tech Help!!!!!

Hey guys,
Im having a serious issue, The other day I was driving and the car just went dead. I had it towed home and found that the sparkplug wires were arcing. i changed them as well as the plugs. Now the car will start and then go dead. It wont idle at all just keeps starting it will stay at like 250 rpm for like one min then die. I have no idea what to do I changed the fuel filter and it still seems that its not getting fuel but there was some in the filter. Any suggetions I was thinking maybe the Pump is gone but I have no Idea. And also on the top of the engine there is a lil valve I need to know what the exact name for that is. Its looks like maybe some kind of vacum valve has 3 hoses conected to it 2 big one small any help is great thanks. I know Im a noob but I need help!!!!!

My guess, and I mean guess, would be some sort of timing belt or coil pack. It just sounds to me like the spark isn't doin much. Maybe someone else can help more than me...sorry.

yeah, all you need to have a running engine is air, fuel, and spark (basically)... sounds like you've eliminated fuel as a suspect, i would look into spark...

i agree with bagel, it kinda sounds like a coil pack, are all the cylinders firing? if not, check the wires and if its not them its most likely the coil pack...

is your air filter clean? i doubt that it would be dirty enough to stall your car, but check it out
