Hey guys hope i can get some help from you.

I am having problems with a 2001 jetta Vr6 (Auto). When driving on the street or on the highway the ECP and the ASR light turn on. After a few minutes, the Ecp light goes off but the ASR light stays on and cannot deactivate manually. When the car is turned off for, a couple of minutes then the ASR light turns off. I have not done any sort of computer dynastic. So before I do a computer dynastic I would like to know what you guys mitt think the problem(s) could be.

 

sounds like you have a bad wheel speed sensor or brake pressure sensor on the brake booster. what you can do is go to autozone and they run your fault codes for free there. thats what those lights are, their the malfunction light for that particular system. if you have any questions let me know, i've been a master mechanic with mercedes-benz for six years. but i drive a vw.
