i was driving home the other night in my 97 jetta GL and i was about twenty feet from my driveway, i geared down to approach my drive way, there was a clunk in the front of the car, the car stalled and it hasnt started since, it will turn over but wont start, also probably nothing but i had just as soon as it stalled turned over 248K.
Any ideas what it could be?

 

Is the check engine light on? if so you might want to start there.Also not sure if the car has one but check the timing belt.
