Default Cleaning valves

I was wondering if there was any way to clean the carbon build-up on valves without having to remove the head.
Thanks

Does any one use seafoam treatments on VW's? I use it on my Z28 Camaro, and it works beautifully. I know this is an old thread, but i am new (again) to the vw world. It is amazing how much crap comes out the exhaust (smoke) from seafoaming.

racer, have you done it to your car?

Also did you do it using the brake booster? Use about half a bottle and make it die on the last bit of seafoam, soak (engine off) for 15, than run and drive it hard to get rid of everything?

I just do it through the throttle body but, that puts up an engine code that you can just clear off if you have a scanner. The brake booster should work fine. I think you just let it soak for 5 min. I do it every 5,000 miles.
