Certified Vehicle warranty questions
I have some questions about what will void a warrranty. I know adding aftermarket parts will void the warranty, but is it voided only on the system you mod? For example, if i add new headlights are just the headlights voided or the whole electrical system? Also, do modifications to the body such as a new grill void a bumper to bumper warranty or the 12 year rust free warranty? Lastly, if you buy a VW part through a VW dealer and have them install it does it void the warranty? Like if I would buy a VW touchscreen through the dealership and have them install it would it void the warranty? I know itd be expensive with labor costs and all but id rather pay a little more now and keep the peace of mind that the warranty gives me.

Are you talking about your 2007 Jetta or a new vehicle?
The warranty is generally void if you fit none genuine parts then you try and claim under the warranty for something thats gone wrong with that system. If your fitted headlights and take it back because the wiring has burnt out for what ever reason they may notice the headlights aren't genuine and thats cause the fault and thats the reason to void the warranty.
If your buying a VW radio of a dealer and they are fitting it then the warranty shouldn't be affected. If its a new radio then the full warranty if its a used radio then probably 30 days.
Alot of people have their motors chip tuned and if the motor developes a fault with the engine or it blows up and try to claim under warranty VW can scan the ecu and tell if its been chip tuned and thats a case to void warranty.

Well the UK VW warranty is only 3 years or 60k miles so do you have an extended warranty on your 2007 Jetta?
