my 2000 Jetta 2.0 check engine light comes on for a week then off again. This has happened about three times. I got the error codes which were P1255 & P1296. Anyone know what these codes are?

the 1255 is your ECT ,engine coolant temperate, sensor which regulates coolant temps.think the 1296 is the engine coolant level sensor not sure though.My advice is to check all of your coolant lines before driving the vehicle.sometimes the res leaks into the engine after so many miles..time to take it to the shop
