Default This alarm is driving me Crazy

My alarm won't disarm. I just bought a 2000 VW Jetta and it does it on and off. I think that it has to do with rain getting in, because eventhough I have only had the car for a week, the only 2 times it's done was after it rained. I can't start the car because the alarm is tied to the ignition and it goes off when I try to start the car. Can anyone help me out? Could it be the moisture? If anyone has any ideas PM me.

Thanks

hey. i had this same problem in my car. you have to use your key fob. use the fob to disamr the alarm. when you see the turn signals flash on the dash board turn your key over. then the car should start no problem. then when you shut the car off it will set the alarm again. so you will have to use the fob to shut the alarm off before getting out of the car or else you will set the alarm off.. hope this helps. and if this works then i think i can help you even more.. let me know..
