Hello! I drove my 95 Jetta III GL to work today and back home a few hours later without experiencing any problems. I parked the car on my inclined driveway and went inside and came out later only to find that my car would not start. I get electricity and the check engine light comes on, the gas dial moves to where it should be and my emergency lights come on automatically and wont turn off. It took some effort to actually get the car out of park and into neutral just to get the thing on level ground. I unplugged the battery just so the emergency lights wouldnt run it dead.. I cant seem to turn them off at all. I also didn't get a chance to check the oil because I had to run to work but will get a chance tomorrow. I purchased this car about 2 weeks ago and everything seemed fine to this day. There was a small oil leak, and I feel that maybe oil could be the problem but I have no automotive experience. When I turn the ignition nothing happens other than the check engine light coming on and the temp/gas dials adjust. What is wrong with my car?

did you check the fuel pump fuse? my 94 jetta has fuel pump issues and the fuse wuz my problem.

 

I need to know too. Mine is a 96. I was just driving it last night, and everything was fine. Today, there is power to everything, bit it just won't crank, like the alarm is keeping it from starting.

I tried everything to get it to start, and nothing.

Any ideas?

Pass a decoding machine, resolve various car breakdown, can see electric circuit diagram of understanding the car, pass to see diagram, analyze the breakdown of car electric circuit, resolve to practice a breakdown problem.
