I figure its a long shot but i thought id see what you guys think. My ac does not work, it doesnt blow cold air, and my heater only seeps out hot air after a long while. So i thought it was the motor so i replaced it but it did not work. I checked the fuses and they seem fine. Im wondering if theres anything else you guys can recommend looking at before i freeze to death in my car in the morning. Also i heard somewhere this is common with some VWs, is this true? Any advice helps thanks

the switches go bad all the time pull the nobbs off and the cover plate you will see a small copper contact on the switch you can push the slider part down and see if it works

 

yeah i took your advice and you were right! The copper on the switches wasn't connecting.Thanks for that. But one more question. Where can i get that replaced? Prefereably id like to get a whole new switch console cause the one i have i bought with the car, has a three prong plug which really comes in handy. Plus the wiring is all messed up on the buttons. So please let me know if you know any sites that sell just that. Thanks

 

you can pull the small part out and bend it alittle
try some independent vw parts stors or the dealer
