Default 91 Jetta Oil light & Buzzing

Hello everyone. I put a new valve cover gasket on my 91 jetta. It has a 1.8L gas engine. The oil leak has stopped but when the car is revved above 2000 RPM, the oil light starts flashing and the buzzer sounds. The oil is full but the car does have a fram filter that I put on it the last time I changed the oil (2 months ago). A volkswagen dealership by me closed down and I was given about 10 black oil filters for free but I was all out by the last oil change. While putting on the valve cover gasket, I also sprayed down the block with cleaner to remove the oil. Is it possible that the sending unit is wet? I don't know where they are located or how many it has. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

To be sure you need to attach an oil pressure gauge where the oil pressure switch fits and make sure it maintains pressure. Oil pressure switches do go faulty and they are cheap enough to replace.

If I knew which engine you have and may be the engine code I could tell you what the pressure should be.
