Question 2010 Jetta TDI actual fuel economy?

I am going to purchase a new vehicle rather soon and I am looking for something rather fuel efficient. Right now the buck stops at either a Jetta TDI or a Prius. At the moment I am leaning more for the Jetta for its a nicer vehicle and it has far more power than a Prius. But I am wondering what are people actually getting per gallon? List the MPG your getting (specify city, mixed or hwy).

Also anyone with a 2006, 8 or 9 Jetta, I would be interested in knowing the fuel economy of those as well for I am also considering purchasing a used one.

Ive heard numbers between 30-36 for city and 48-51 on the highway. I would deffinatly go with the TDI. Wayyyyy nicer of a car, Prius' are ugly, and like you said, have no power. TDI all the way baby!

Default 98 tdi

I have been driving a 98 Jetta TDI for years and get a min of 43 MPG. If you want fuel economy you can't beat it. Also I should get a ton of miles before it dies.
