does anyone know what to do? the trunk takes 3/4 times for it to shut....the switch under the license plate does not work, the indoor switch does and the outside key lock does....help it costs 57.00 for the latch and 110.00 for the gasket and 27.00 for the plate it closes on..

 

I would try taking of the plastic trunk cover revealing the latch and switch and internal components and see if you can find the problem yourself. If its not locking you might just need a new trunk latch.

 

thanks , it just seems like this problem has been going on for a long time....i called my local vw with them saying there is no tsbs or recalls for my jetta...but thanks i will try this when it warms ups ron
