Default 2005 jetta hood problem

Just pick up a 2005 Jetta. I cannot open the hood. I cannot get at the release in front of the hood. It seems wedged. Is there something I can do to solve this? How should it be positioned under there? I remember when the dealer showed me the car he opened it no problem. I just want to know ifis this how you open it, from the outside? Or is therea release inside the car as well.Info is missing. No manual on this. {imagine that}Thanks for the help.

so under driver dash you have the big handle, pull it the hood comes up. Pull up on the hood and another lever comes out, pull it and open the hood.

Glad to be part of the Volkswagen & Volkswagen Forums family! My neighbor gave me static for not buying American. My one American sale would NOT have saved GM,Ford, etc. from massiveprofit losses.
