just got a 03 jetta 1.8t and it has some knocking issues. i think it's in the top of the motor, before i start the teardown, any ideas? could it just be out of time? is there some something these motors a are bad about doing that it could be? it did recently have a head job(before i got it), but supposely ran good for a couple months after that then started knocking. the guy i bought it from thought it was a rod, i disagree its not knocking that bad.....yet
