Default 2002 Jetta ABS problem

Hey everyone, I was talking to a friend of mine and she was telling me about a complaint on her 02 Jetta. Seems she has taken then fuse for the ABS out due to the fact that she said the ABS will activate every time she uses the brakes and sometimes she couldn't hardly get the vehicle to stop.

Now, I'm not totally familiar with Volkswagons, but I've seen a brake switch out of adjustment or faulty cause this on other vehicles. Just thought I'd see what you all thought or if these had any common problems.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

sounds like a bad part on your friend's car. ABS as a passive system shouldn't kick in unless it is needed. in snow, it won't do you much good. an active ABS system will always have the braking seem to vibrate. passive will be solid braking until the fronts lock up then it will be the vibrational thing.

i prefer a passive ABS system in a car. i do have ABS in my car and have no intention of disabling it.
