2002 Jetta 1.8T, Engine Cut Out with A/C on?

Hey Everyone, this form is great. I have searched it a lot and never had to post till now!

I bought a 2002 VW Jetta with a 1.8T in it. It has been running great, just comming up on 46000 miles. Somthing weird just started happening though. When the A/C is on and I am just driving around the engine cuts out with all the electronics and then kicks back on and jerks the car even with my foot off the petal.

I've never had to restart it because it always has kicked back on. I have no clue where to start with this one. I have only noticed it with the A/C on, and it seems to go away with the A/C off.

Ideas? Thanks

Since it seems to be directly related to the A/C start by checking out the A/C compressor. Also might not be a bad idea to check the refrigerant pressure. If it's too high it could cause problems.
