freon ammount

Default freon ammount

i took my 02 jetta to an air conditioning shop today to have the ac recharged. they couldnt figure out how much freon to put into the system in pounds. Anyone know the answer?

its a 2.0. i cant get the compressor to run so i'm going to try a new clutch coil

Check fuse. I was actually helping this other person with almost the same problem like yours...

i have power to the compressor. The clutch just wont kick in. I'm thinking the system will hold about 2 pounds on R134A

From my experience, when filling an A/C unit it should be between 25-45 psi I just recharged mine to 40 psi and she's blowing nice and cold. As for the amount to put in I would think that 2 lbs. should be sufficient maybe a bit more. The reason your compressor won't kick on is, most likely, because the system is empty or very low. Cross your fingers that you don't have a leak in the system.
