Default 2000 Jetta TDI Electrical Problems! Help please!!!!

I while ago, I had a problem with my 2000 Jetta TDI driver's window. It had become lose from the track and slipped inside the door. In order to reset the window into the track, I had to remove the door skin and disassemble the door. When I put every thing back together the window worked fine. The next day I noticed my cruise control didn't work! I also found that my heated mirrors, daytime running lights, both heated seats were not working. I also found that my reverse lights were on as soon as I switched on the ignition. I have checked the fuses and they all seem to be fine. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks for helping a "newbie".

I would have suggested you blew a fuse but, this may sound strange but, you need a new light switch. Feel free to ask me more questions I know it is weird but I'm 99% sure that's the problem.

Thanks for the reply! Do you mean the main dash rotary light switch? Do you think this is a multiple breakdown or just the one fault showing in many places?

Thanks for your time.

Yeah that's the switch. All of those functions go through the switch essentially. They all share the control module. I guess either the control module or the light switch shorted out while you were fixing the window. More than likely it's the switch.

Default window repair

CJBEAR007 - i am trying to get my window back on the track as well and cannot figure out how to remove the panel underneath the main panel on the door since it appears to be riveted on...any suggestions since you have done this already?
