Question 2000 jetta oil issues

I have a 2000 Jetta that I love but lately I have noticed it is burning oil very fast and I was wondering is there a special oil I should be using in it or if there is something wrong with my car. When I have the oil changed the guys there tell me it is fine and It is nothing to worry about. But it is seems to burn oil super fast to the point I am always checking it becuase I am worried It is low....Hopefully someone can help me out there and let me know if there is a certain type of oil I should use or if it just the way vw jetta's are.

It shouldn't be burning oil that fast or at all. How many miles do you have on it? I was told to run 5W 40 in mine. What engine do you have?

Thank you.........I am not sure the oil i use but I will try the 5w 40 and I have 80k on my Jetta. I have a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.
