2000 Jetta GSL 2.0 Auto 94K transmission problems...
Hey guys. I have a Jetta that has some bad transmission problems. It's slipping when it shifts and won't go into the highest gear (4?) at all. I can't take it on the highway, because the RPM goes up to 4-5000 at 60 mph. If I try to go any faster than that, it really revs loudly and makes me scared I'm going to screw something up. The check engine light has been on since a little before this started happening. I read the code and it was P0730 - Incorrect Gear Ratio. I also found that I had forgotten to install an air filter that I bought about 7,000 miles ago and that the large hose that connected the filter to the intake was disconnected. I reconnected it and drove it around for a minute. Still not shifting right. Check engine light comes right back on. Now there are 6 errors: p0301 p0302 p0303 p0000 p0000 p0000. The first three are cylender misfires and I can't find what the other ones are. Help!
As far as the P0730 error; what could be the cause of this? 94,000 miles seems really early for transmission problems.
