Default 1998 Jetta GL Wolfsburg 4cyl problem

I got a check engine light and ran the codes

first was p1502 ("open or short circuit condition" probable causes "failed fuel pump relay")

then i had two for the 1 and 3 cylinder misfiring. (p0302 p0301)

In addition to these - i have noticed that the car stutters and bogs down when driving in the rain -
i really dont want to take this to the mechanic and would rather fix it myself . . . Anyone heard of
anything like this or have any idea as to the source of the problem?

VW Jetta 4cyl GL 2.0 l. Wolfsburg

Don't know about the rain but, sounds like you may havebad injectors. Before replacing them change your fuel filter and pour a can of Seafoam to about a half a tank of high octane gas and run it trough.

98 is that a jetta 3
sounds like a coil
spray the coil down with a squirt bottle full of water and see what hapens
if it has the coil pack insted of just one coil spray it and the wires down you should here the spark somewhere

Ok, so i wanted to run the codes again and I did. The first time I was mistaken - i read the p1502, but the code was actual P1582 which is for the idle control. Anyone heard of this problem?

Yes, your throttle body is going out.

No, the problem is the electronics of it. It's the throttle body control module.
