Default 1995 Jetta Clutch/Slave Cylinder Question

I was driving on the highway in my 1995 5 speed VW Jetta in 4th gear. When I tried to go into 5th, there didn't seem to be any pressure behind the clutch pedal, and I could not switch into any gear like there was a 'wall' blocking me from shifting into it.

The clutch pedal will now stick to the ground when pushed in and can only be brought back up when you pull on it.

I believe I need to replace my slave cylinder but I cannot find where it is. I have searched online for hours and cannot find any pictures of this either.

Can someone please help? It would be really nice to have my car back.

It sound like your clutch cable has come disconnected from the release arm.
You can check that at the transmission , you should see the cable and the release arm clsoe to the starter.
Or you may need to change your clutch cable.
No slave cylinder or hydraulics in your clutch release setup.

It appears that some Jetta's had clutch cables in Canada clutch (cable??) issues. need help diagnosing - any help would be appreciated! I would check for a broken cable as vwvic suggests.
