My jetta started idling high at stop lights and then kicks down to normal but sometimes it starts stalling and drops idle and goes back up and back down and almost dies unless i give it gas. anyone have any advice? its got a tune up and runs damn good except the idle so im kinda lost. this is my first vw and it worked fine before but just started doing it.

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing and check systems out.
