New to the forum.. Here I go. Car is a 01 jetta, 2.0 automatic. Have the car at a shop for a couple items. Some how the keys got locked in the car. The spare key is 4 hours away!! Anyway, got in the car, but apparently by unlocking the car from the inside, pissed off the security system(: He is now trying to deactivate the security system, no luck. How the world do you reset the security system?? HELP PLEASE

 

Ha, oh boy… Little miss communication on where the actual key fob was at!! Popped the door to get into the car, found a spare key, (valet I assume) which I didn't know was there(kids car who is off at college). So without the fob, could not reset security system. FOB was in there lock box for key drop off, they have 2 boxes!! ooooops…. So, hopefully in the morning, first thing, beep, beep….

The valet key should still start the car.

main key should start you car as well, u may have an immobilizer issue
