I just replaced the clutch on my 2000 Golf TDi with OJ2 manual transmission. I used the instructions from ecstuning's website where you removed the shift cables, bracket and lever together as a unit. They say this way no adjustment is needed when reinstalled. I also drained and changed the transmission fluid while I was at it. Everything went back together well with no known parts left over.
However now the shifter is extremely sloppy and I can only hit 3rd and 4th gears from inside. Even with the cable end adjusted all the way out it will only go into 1st gear with the shifter **** in the REVERSE position. I can manually shift into every gear with the shift lever from inside the engine compartment, but only 3rd and 4th with shift **** inside. Any ideas?
