Default exhaust

so i was told because of my turbo that i can't just have any muffler i was gonna geta quality exhaust from my buddy but i heard that it jacks up your back pressure with the turbo and actually is bad for your engine (depending on the size of the pipes) anyone have any comment on this?

not an expert but i dont know that i believe that, it may sound crappy or perhaps not help performance any but i doubt it will hurt, by the time the exhaust gets to the muffler the pressure is un-needed, yes it needs it to turn the turbo, but after that its straight out the back, i know people with no cat or muffler just straight pipes and no problems, i also know people with the pipes cut off 12 inches from the turbo, i dont think it matters really. It would be pointless to do certain things, like 3inch turbo back exhaust with a stock turbo, but if it tickles your fancy then why not. Im going with 2.5" turbo back once i have the funds.
someone else may know more about this though

all i know is the VR NEEDS the back preasure. but the turbo, likes the flow. but yea, by the time it gets to the muffler, i dunno how much it matters. unless you're only planning on doing the muffler (not recomended by me) then the muffler probably would matter.

If im not mistaken, you're talking about Delta pressure, not back pressure. Back pressure is the resistance of air, while Delta pressure is the loss of pressure through a component (Exhaust). To me, I really dont know if it matters in this case. My car has magnaflow from the cat-back, and I dont seem to have any problems.
