Default 18" rims on gti

i got some 18" rims from a friend and now i have the problem of the tires rubing inside the whell weld, and passenger side gas tank. i want to install stiffer rear springs but dont know which ones to use, or from what car. dont really care if the car is up in the air. just dont want it to rub. thanks in advance

If the tires are the same size az your original tires then there should be no problem. I guess you should try raising your car. Not sure. some pics would help.

Idk what year your GTi is but it sounds like you might have some worn suspension components, unless your car is lowered or your old tires were like 14" there shouldnt be any problems using 18's. Have a shop look at it you might just need new shocks or springs
