Thinking of buying a '85 Golf. Help?

I'm looking at this one, but I don't know a lot about them. Would it still top 30mpg at such a high mileage? Are they reliable? Easy to work on? Easy to find parts for? Any common problems? Could I do better for under $1.5k?
