Default Oxygen sensor issues

I am having trouble with my oxygen sensors. I bought two not knowing that there are 3. I replaced the upstream by the turbo and the downstream after the secondary converter. The sensor in front of the secondary converter has a red/brown connector with a tab on it. Autozone sold me the wrong part and carparts has pictures of the right part but sent the wrong one. Is it possible to de-pin and re pin with the red/brown connector or swap pigtails? Is the only difference the connector? I don’t see why it wouldn’t work unless it is wideband and the others are not. I am trying to avoid buying a sensor from the dealer because they say it costs well over $300.

It sounds like you’ve run into the common issue of sensor connectors not matching aftermarket parts. In many cases, you can de-pin and re-pin the connector wolfwinner2.com if you have the right tools and the wires match in function and gauge, but it takes careful work to avoid damaging the sensor or causing a short. Check if your sensor is narrowband or wideband first—swapping types can cause driveability issues. If they’re the same type, swapping pigtails can work, just make sure to secure connections and test carefully before finalizing.
