No Injector pulse...HELP..

No Injector pulse...HELP..
Hey guys...new here and not too too familiar with this 93 Golf....MkIII 2 point SLOW engine. Ive been a mechanic for a long long time...Just need some help with the specifics of this particular V dub.
Engine died out on my bud and I towed him here. I checked fuel pump which is primiming and pumping while cranking...so plenty of fuel. SPARK IS GOOD..... I do not have ANY injector pulse going to the injectors....
Wondering if its the camshaft sensor inside the distributor....OR the CRANK sensor on the block.... Does anyone know which controls the injector pulse.... In most vehicles the pulse comes from the distributor...but I CANNOT find ANY info on the net about whats up in this 93' Golf.....Its driving me a bit nuts
