I've taken it to two garages (one of them a VW dealer and a senior VW engineer) and no-one can find anything wrong. The engine and the electrics and power steering all cut out at once when I'n driving. It does it spontaneously without warning. Has anyone had a similar problem and how did you fix it.

 

Well, this thing sounds horrible and terrible to me. The thing is that I don't guess that such things can happen and that also at once and other than that, if really these horrible things keeps continuing further then there is no better solution other than to take away the car to the authorized dealer or other than that simply quit it.
