Default Golf 4 tdi 90 or 110 : how to be sure ?

Hello
I recently bought a Golf 4 tdi 110. Unfortunatly the original paperwork don't mention TDI 110 anywhere, it just says TDI.
I'd like to be sure i bought a 110 and not paid too much for a 90.
I've make some research, apparently there are easy ways to recognize them :
TDI 90 motor type AHF and the TDI at the rear in silver
TDI 110 motor type ASV and the I at the rear in red

The thing is, my motor type is AHF (seen on a sticker in the back of the car) but I have the I in red at the rear...
The year of the car is 1999 maybe that has something to do with it...

If anyone could help me out, i'd apreciate it.

Thx

Hey there,

I used to have a Mk4 TDi 90.
The best way to tell is to look in the boot at the spare wheel well there will be a sticker with lots of random numbers on it, these are the extras that are on your car.
But at the top it will have a number in bolder letters. This is the kW power of your car: 66kW is 90 BHp 82kW is 110BHp.

That should be a definate way to tell.
Failing that you could always take it to your local VW garage, they should be able to tell you through the chassis number what engine it has!!

Hope that helps

Paul
