Hey guys im new here. Got a question about my 2002 Golf (2.0 gas). My cooling fans are not coming on at all causing the car to overheat when i let it sit and run for 10 or more minutes. My A/C is also not working. I can hear it trying to do something when i push the A/C button but no cold air. I replaced the low pressure switch and checked the freon and they are fine. Any ideas? Just wondering if these 2 problems are linked somehow? The A/C randomly works sometimes, but the last few times i tried it it didnt.

i think the fans should come on when you turn on the AC. if they dont then check to see if you have voltage to fans when hot. probably no current there so i would check for blown fuses or bad fan relay

 

 

i got it fixed. it was the coolant fan relay under the dash. 18 bucks from NAPA.

I got a VW Golf 4 from 2000, 2.0 gas.

My problem is that the fans won't stop running.
It's a big problem because it drains the battery.
Now i pull off the battery so the battery is not going flat, and when i put it back on, the fans starts right away.

Have you ever heard about this before?
