i was driving down the road in my '94 golf cl and anytime i tried to accelerate the car would miss and putt like it was out of gas. Then i pulled over and when i went to take off again it stalled and wound over but would not start .And the check engine light
was not on. I made sure there was gas in it and I can hear the fuel pump running. Any ideas what would be wrong? any help would be appreciated

or possibly a sparkplug, it would probably run with one bad plug, but its possible that it wouldn't


check the plug wires and plugs

 

It will run with one bad one but you'll hear the miss all the time. Doubtfully it's plugs or wires.
