Default Brakes

Hi all,

Taking my car to garage today but just thought I would ask if anybody could tell me if doing anything wrong

The problem is my brakes are not responding fully, when I press my brake pedal, it will go almost all the way down to the floor before starting to brake

I had my brake discs check last week before the problem arose and they said they were fine

Yesterday the Brake Fluid light came on saying top up, so I thought Ill top up tommorw on my lunch at work

Driving to work this morning and no Brake Fluid Light warning

Half way to work after using my brakes a bit and felt responsive enough and okay

Next thing, bang, Pedal didnt respond until Pedal was nearly to the floor

So, got some brake fluid today and topped full up to the MAX

Pumped the Brakes a bit and felt much more reaponsive

Started engine, pressed brake pedal and same thing, pedal lost all pressure and stright to the floor nearly

My question is, do I have to wait a certain amount of time for the Brake fluid to kick in, or do I need to do anything else like pump the brake pedal for a bit

Any help would be great

Cheers

Default RE: Brakes

i would have the brake master cylinder changed. whenever the brakes go to the floor its a pressure problem. so that means either you have an open brake line or your master cylinder is no good
