Default bought a golf II

Guy only wanted 600, body is straight, looks like it needs a new bumper cover. Both door handles are broken, little bit of rust on the lower passenger side door...and a little around the gas door.Nothing close to perforating yet though...interior is really clean, no tears..only 85500 miles on it, the interior looks half that age.

He replaced the rear brake lines, water pump, timing belt, all other belts, heater hose, coolant flush, accelerator cable, plugs, wires, new exhaust from cat-backand its sitting on 4 new snowshoes.
And it passed wet compression test with flying colors.
no radio, automatic 3 speed. White with grayfabric interior.....All that needs fixing is the door handles, and a hatch strut...maybe new juicebox and cables...

basically I stole the deal, and the kid looked like he needed the money though i think he coulda listed on ebay for twice what I paid for it....what is this vehicle a good candidate for? vR6 swap? lower it, put a kit and wheels on it? Im new to volkswagen so let me know what's good on these.

Default RE: bought a golf II

i just ordered door handles on ebaymotors...

any advice on replacing these? The originals were broke off. The passenger side door can't be opened even from the inside, so is there some trick to pop the door open since it doesnt look like i can get the skin off without having the door open
