Default 2003 GTI/VR6 O2 sensor no activity

Something caught the wire to the O2 sensor in Bank 1 Sensor 2 and the wires broke. I was receiving codes for both sensors so I replaced them both. Sensor 1 is working but sensor 2 is not. I am getting code 1198(electrical malfunction) and 0140(no activity detected). The plugs were still securely seated in the box so I do not think there is any issue there. I checked the plug and all of the wires are tight. Any help would be appreciated.

What were those error codes scanned with not VAG-COM\VCDS?

Keith,

Sorry for not posting in the New Member area, I was not aware of the proper protocol. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I have used your forum many times in the past to arrive at fixes but had not signed up. I was stumped with this repair and needed some help.

I did use a VAG-COM and the codes were P1198 and P0140 as stated above. I will repost in the New Member's area.
