I bought an 03 golf. The radio has been changed. Has a radio out of a jetta. I have the Vin # from the jetta. I have called 5 local dealers told them I have serial # from radio and original car vin. I was told $85 to get the code. Anyone have a radio with code or any suggestions? I would rather go another route than to pay $85 for a 5 min task from vw. Maybe go aftermarket. I mean really who is going to steal a radio out of a 12 year old car?

A dealer should give you the radio code FOC if its a genuine VW radio and you have the radio info and VIN and proof of ownership.
