Default 1996 VW Golf 1.8L reservoir/coolant problem

Hi guys,

I'm suffering from a problem with my coolant light that doesn't stop flashing on my dashboard, despite checking the level numerous times and seeing it's ok.

Could it be possible I have a faulty sensor? Is that thing common in Golf's that age?

Thanks

PS - Temp never goes above 100c

Sometimes seeing is not believing.
Did you actually add coolant .
Add coolant when the engine is cold and make sure the cap is on tight, and check that your cooling fan comes on before overheating.

Sounds like a bad coolant sensor..Bring it in and have the sensor checked or replaced..that is what happened to my volvo parts before..
