Cool 06 golf wont start

Hello I own a 06 golf that has been good to me so far how ever today it wont start I have a feeling its a fuse or sensor that I can fix myself instead of going to the dealership so here is whats happening I am looking for some feedback on how to fix it

When i turn the ignition all lights and bells come on normaly so I feel its not the battery but when I turn to start the car acts as if the clutch is not engaged so basicaly nothing happens the clutch has good compression so I dont think its the clutch any Ideas of what it could be? if so where are these sugestions located so I can start changing them out

thank you so much for taking the time to help my baby and I really apreciate it

Really we need more info on the car not I have an 06 Golf, which model petrol or diesel?

The clutch has nothing to do with the starting system or compression.

Is that the engine check (MIL) light your talking about? You need to find someone with VAG-COM\VCDS to do an Autoscan to see what error codes show up.

There are on three reasons why an engine won't go in your case a petrol engine.

1. Mechanical damage e.g. broken timing belt.
2. Insufficient fuel in the cylinder.
3. Insufficient spark to ignite the fuel.
