EOS engine warning light is on

EOS engine warning light is on
What should I do? Manual says take car to the dealer. Is that necessary? Why is the warning light that looks like an engine coming on and staying on? Can anyone help?

I've never heard of a ROD warning light and you tried to change it to EOS as that's where you've posted the question.
There are many warning lights on a VW can you post a picture of this warning light of Google images?
