Default What should I look for in a 95 Cabrio

My son is about to start driving. My brother has a '95 Cabrio that he has had since new and it has about 70000 miles on it. I have never owned a VW and know nothing about them but I am kind of a gear head. I do know 2 things about my brother's car though. First it needs a new top. Where should I look to buy one and how much should one be? Second - about my brother - he does not believe in any type of regular maintenance. I, on the other hand, am fanatical about it! My brother is of the opinion that since he drives VERY little and it starts nothing, else is needed. I doubt the car has had 6 oil changes. It probably has gone less than 10,000 miles in the last 5 years. What should we do before taking posession and putting on the road? I will change spark plugs, oil (probably twice), belts, flush and fill radiator, transmission fluid (automatic) Is the tranny sealed? I heard it is. I will also check and replace brakes and tires if needed. The kicker is that the car is in DC and we live in Atlanta. Obviously I will have to go up there and spend a few days doing all this service and then drive it back. What suggestions do you have.

Thanks in advance!

While choosing 05' Volkswagen you should look for good quality that it is giving 100% guarantee, the windows of the car should be made of glass, the colors you choose must be midnight blue and beige. Plus it should give 5 years warranty.
