I need help... I have a 02 VW Cabrio. My brake light & ABS light have been on for awhile and haven't been able to get a diagnosis. Well a few days ago my C.E.L light came on and I hooked it up to OBD scanner that a friend has and also jiffy lube used their scanner and its not linking w/ my vehicle. Will this have anything to do w/ my radio being in SAFE mode, i havent been able to use the radio since I got the car because i can't retrieve the code. I don't believe I have a aftermarket radio, its the radio w/ a tape deck and it says VOLKSWAGEN on the tape deck. I know i ran thru emissions back in 08 and the obd at emissions worked then but now its not workign w/ any scanner and trying to determine what the issue w/ CEL is .. The car is running fine , the plunger on my dipstick was broke so I replaced that today. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to avoid the dealer becauase for a diagnostic its 280.00.. and they are very rude and unhelpful and want to sell you everything.
