Rough start and idle any ideas?
2001 Cabrio my sisters car, she got a flat, they changed it, noticed rough start/idle after that but it went away. She went on 5 days of vacation came back started it up and it sounds like the video attached. Any ideas? Link to youtube video: https://youtu.be/bIuVxYg6vWQ

First posts normally go in introductions else you could get a free fix and we never see you again!!!

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing and check systems out.
Please tell us your car spec in your signature

'Bearing' or 'Chain Tensioner '
BUT WHICH ONE,
You did not leave much time to centre the noise,
but to be honest that sounds like main gear box centre shaft bearing,
But you need to run checks on water pump, alternator,
Cam Belt/Chain or P.a.s. pump,
Main belt pully nut is loose, or
Idle pulleys,
but from your you tube clip,
Sound is centre in car,
As car in stationery mode,
Noise could be coming from clutch side main gear box bearing
or clutch thruster bearing,
But this is just listening the sound of your utube clip,
I having pull cars and lorry's apart since early 1960s,
that don't sound a easy fix,
and sound centres of out side engine not in engine,
sorry a bit late posting
I just join this forum for V.W.
Did you find cause of what was breaking ,
sound expensive what ever it was ,
