my friends 2000 cabrio doesnt make a sound when you turn the key. It has had intermittent starting for the last two months, then finally quit for good. i changed the ignition switch, which was cracked, and it didnt fix the problem. i tried jumping the solenoid, no luck. test light showed power to the solenoid, but i havent checked the wire to the starter from the solenoid yet because i couldnt immediately see it from above, and i didnt want to get under it because its raining right now . checked every fuse. anyone ever have this happen?

 

Once correctly check the conditions if not then consult the dealer.

 

I cant thank you enough for that advice, thank god a forum such as this exists so that I am able to ask a question and a week later I may get some advice like this. What a relief! I should have this figured out in no time now! And Cheap!
