I have a 2001 Cabrio and have a bad Brake module so the mechanic said, since abs light comes on intermitently. I was wondering are the Brake Modules interchangable with other years and other models? If so can anyone out there give some advice Thanks.

Are you sure its the brake module have you had a VAG-COM\VCDS scan?

I wouldn't like to say if modules are interchangeable.

 

I have no idea what that scan is. the mechanic I went to is repitable though they specialize in VW and Benz they did scans or codes and said the module could be rebuilt for $700. I didnt have the $$ so told them no on rebuilding it. I wasnt sure if i could get 1 from a junkyard or something and use it instead of shelling out all that money.
