Default Inconsistent AC

Hey guys I just bought this 1998 Cabrio for my daughter and the Ac is acting up. Sometimes it blows really cold and other times nothing but hot air. There is also a small air leak in the top driver side. I notice the latch is a little bent and already adjusted to the lowest setting. Is there any trick to reconditioning that catch that the hook locks onto? Any and all suggestions much appreciated. thanks

Sounds like the a/c compressor is going out. And as for your other problem you're going to have to be more specific, I have no idea what you are describing.

Thanks Racerx. The second problem is referring to the latch that secures the convertible top. Air leaks through on the drivers side. I noticed that the part that the hook on the top grabs to lock the top down is bent out a little and not making a good seal. I was wondering if there is any trick to reconditioning that catch. I tried using JB weld but it just breaks off.

I can't think of anything to fix that. Here are a couple of sites that might have your part.
