Default 1999 Cabrio Cruise Control Fuse

I have a 1999 Cabrio and the cruise is not working. The owners manual said the fuse for the cruise is above the relays. DO you have to tear the dash apart to get to it? I don't see any other way. The Haynes manual only show the fuses for a Jetta. Need suggestions on how to change it.

Well, it is not the fuse. It must be one of the components. Anyone had a similar problem?

No you don't have to tear the dash apart. There are a few screws below the dash that hold up a plastic piece. Take those out, then there are plastic clips on either side pull them dow carefully to "snap" them out of place, make sure you do not use to much force to break these so that you can put it back together when your done. Now you have to push up slightly on the fuse box, the entire fuse box, there are two rods on either side that sit in plastic clips/hooks that you have to remove them from. Once you have them ensure the wires are no caught on anything and gently pull down and you will have access to the top of the fuse box where the cruis control is located.
