Do you have an owners manual for your 98 Cabrio? Could you send me the section on the Convertible? I'm having a problem getting it closed. Does it have instructions for closing the top manually? Sorry to change the subject. I just got this car and its my first VW....thanks.

Hi radcat
I have a98 cabrio. The procedure to raise the roof manually is;
There is a valve in the trunk on the left fender behind a plastic circular cover, remove the cover, turn the valve counterclockwise ( this releases hyd pressurein the system)
You can now raise the roof manually, raise it slowly, same speed as the motor would take. Close the valve to repressurize the system, and your done.
Hope this helped
